Throwback Thursday
Zen moment
I am always amazed at how the world can be in such a state of unrest… and yet I step outside, and the birds are blissfully unaware, continuing the full chorus line, not worried and unhurried.
They understand the deepest thing of all: the joy of simply being.

This is so lovely and very much needed at this time. Thank you.

Are those zebra finches? Adorable and so very beautiful. Birds never over think things. Other animals don’t. As you said, they just live.

That is such a great way to describe their outlook: they don’t overthink as we do so often, carrying the troubles of the world on our shoulders.
They do look like Zebra Finches!

Saw the same here. Lil’ Murph’s cage has a view of the bird feeder. It keeps him occupied, sometimes. My Mom had to be in a place that had a bird enclosure very similar to the one in the video. She loved so much to watch the happy (although caged) birdies until she could no longer. She loved & had birds. As she is gone, I see more reasons to appreciate them. I continue to love them for her. So happy you shared the lovely thought & realization of their state of minds & the video of them.

I was standing in the hospital watching these happy souls. I know they bring cheer to countless residents and visitors. I love birds as well, and I can only imagine how much joy they brought your mother! And now, even more to you as you appreciate something your mother loved 😊☺️😊
Thank you so much for sharing your story!

Not only do they have pretty feathers and cute poochy bellies, you’re correct, they have happy souls. I shall not ask why you were in a hospital, but I hope all is well.

My favorite time is in the morning….cup of coffee out in the garden watching the birds and squirrels do their thing! Brings my mind to a peaceful place for my morning prayerful meditation!! Finding that place helps all of us stay grounded!!

I had the same thoughts the other day while on a walk. I looked up at the sun and clouds and I thought how can it look so beautiful up there while there is complete chaos down here…

It kind of makes one feel odd, doesn’t it? To be so unmoved by human issues when we are so caught up in it all. 🤔 🤔 🤔

I too feel the same when I see birds busy in their daily activities from early morning to dusk. It is so good that we can see and hear them at all times.
