Even the desert
Seeks reprieve and refreshment
In its rare moments

Throwback Thursday
Jeremiah’s Chorus Line
Largo
A throaty bass begins in accented whole notes – strong and steady.
[Here, an echo from the back of the choir]
Adagio
Then the lead baritone adds some spark, squeezing in a few, nicely-measured, half notes.
The bass is holding his own however.
Now, faster and faster, chirp in some eighths.
Allegretto
The parts become a little sketchy here, and the plot thickens in the swamp.
Enter, Dissonance
Tenors add some high staccato bursts!
The rest of the choir joins the melee.
Allegro!
Forget the rests. Drop the stops!
!Affrettando!
It’s sixteenth notes now jumping off the staff and bouncing around the score.
It’s a roar!
~
Then fading, we begin to see a break in the clamor.
A tempo

Garden Paths

In Gratitude
School is ending soon. A year sounded like such a long time 12 months ago. Little did I know then, how long these months would be. But, here we are at the last week and one final test to go. I’m grateful for the force that helped keep me afloat and helped me keep going. It had to be divine because life didn’t deliver it on its own.
I’m beyond thankful that with school, COVID, work, blogging, a sick fur baby (who is much better now!), protests, a funeral, riots, driving cross- country, and group meditations ( I hope I never see this combination again) – that I am able to say that home has been a quiet haven and retreat these last few months.
I’m grateful for the garden paths of solace I have found along the way, in which I could let the noise of life and my mind just fade away – even if only for these few short moments given, and blissfully received, to capture them.
I’m grateful for friends that I can sit with or walk with in complete silence – where nature, quietness, and companionship have had the full opportunity to just soak into my soul, refilling what had become depleted and empty.
And I’m very grateful to everyone who has stopped by the blog to leave happy notes! Each of you is so appreciated!

Blurred

Long-Distance Medical Transport
A journey of a thousand miles, and ten thousand more, have blurred over time. Nine years between those lines and not a day was the same. Seven states, between one and four, the sun has yet to greet the shore. Nine and ten, driving in late, forget that date. Sleep is a juggling-act, and the road the only constant.
Then the picture starts to come into focus, almost, the travel dust begins to clear. I’ll be handing over the keys for a different kind of year.
Last day! Friday! 🚐
