Today’s Shot 36
Moss Forest
A World within a World
A small patch of moss nestled on rocks by the little stream, takes on new character close up. It has its own landscape of mountains, river, and taller trees reaching up through the mossy forest below. Perhaps a small fairy lives here who has tamed the frog croaking nearby.
We never did find Jeremiah, but he called to us all the same. 🐸

Corridors between trees.
Forest’s voices echo.
Wind whispers through grass.
Winter’s chill settles.
Great Pines and hearts yearn,
For sun’s warmth to return.

Snow Fall
by Beth Haley
Small icy flakes began falling Tuesday evening. Barely seen, they fell and came to rest with tiny whispers. I sheltered beneath the swinging bows and listened to the wind blowing its icy breath through the leaves. It’s a light show for now, but promises more Winter to come.
I reflect on a friend’s words from not too long ago:
“Maybe Santa will bring you snow this year!”
It snowed through the night and stuck around. Thank you for some snow this season! ❄️

The planes criss-crossed
Long trails through the skies.
A heavenly display,
For our eyes.
The sea and breeze and land, do meet.
This day, we joyfully greet.
And, thank the boat,
For its rocking seat!
Which gave such a view,
For this crew.
