Corona de Cristo
Euphorbia milii, better known as Crown of Thorns, Christ Plant, Christ Thorn, and Corona de Cristo in Latin America, is a sun-loving, flowering succulent shrub in the spurge family Euphorbiaciae. It is a native to Madagascar and its botanical name is due to Baron Milius, once Governor of Réunion, who introduced the species to France in 1821.
The common name “Crown of Thorns” is believed to have come from a legend which says that the crown of thorns placed on Jesus’ head was made from this plant. More
