I love graveyards and cemeteries and sacred burial grounds. As a kid I would ride my bike to a cemetery, and just sit and sometimes converse. In college, same, except I started doing rubbings to layer memory into my architectural presentations and artwork. Thanks for this post. Brings back wonderful, indelible memories.

That is wonderful… I find them to be so restful and quiet. Very interesting to do rubbings there for art. If I can find one at the right time, I’ll nap at a graveyard… or just walk. 🌟😊🌟 Im glad to bring back indelible memories for you!

🙂 Me as well on all. As a kid the restful and quiet just opened me up for Tarot cards to simply tell me stories like Grimm’s Fairy Tales, and I thank cemeteries and all the “citizens” there for that.

Funny, though, last winter I took a different route across town to avoid an accident backing up traffic, and as luck would have it, got stuck at standstill next to a cemetery. I “rolled“ down the window and just took it in. ANd, then just burst out laughing with the biggest hoot. Low to the ground just past one of the entrances was a 10-12 foot banner that said, “Join Us.” It was for a Garden society nearby, though all those words were small at the bottom. Just the JOIN US in foot-tall letters. Still laugh at that. “Uhhhh, sure, but… not just yet.”
