New Beginnings in Pretty Pots
When I can find a new beginning and some pretty pottery to start it in, Iโve found a moment of sheer delight. Now, on to my next pottery and baby find!
Ceeโs Flower of the Day – FOTD

Woman of the Lake
She rises slowly through still waters, and lifting her face she sees. The surface, clearest glass, is like canvas stretched between the trees. Here, the sky and clouds are painted, beside tall shadows hung with leaves.

Furby
I had no idea that sitting in the middle of this flower was a Furby with purple eyes, clutching an Amethyst crystal to his tiny chest! He looks a little spiky but pleasant enough. I think he was as shocked to be caught on camera as I was to capture his essence.
Can you see him too?

People think I’m kidding when I tell them that the state tree of Nevada is the telephone pole. But, in many areas and for as far as the eye can see, there’s not a tree in sight.
Nevada has a rugged beauty all it’s own!

A moment in time.
It remains.
I carry it within my soul.
It’s quietness in the noise,
It’s water in the desert.
I take it with me.
It remains within.
This moment in time…

Autumn ๐ is a beautiful time of year in and of itself. Combine the beauty of harvest with a Celtic Wedding, and you have: Breathtaking!
The traditional term for a Celtic wedding is “handfasting.” A handfasting, or to handfast, means “making a contract.” -Wikipedia
Traditionally, a couple would join hands (making “fast” their hands) as a sign of union which was then sealed by a kiss in front of witnesses.
For us, this celebration can be simple, very elaborate, or anything in between! It’s a time when the kilts come out, the bagpipes sing, and the dancing begins! Not to mention the fire dancers!!
Celtic Wedding Blessing
You are the star of each night,
You are the brightness of every morning,
You are the story of each guest,
You are the report of every land.
No evil shall befall you, on hill nor bank,
In field or valley, on mountain or in glen.
Neither above, nor below, neither in sea,
Nor on shore, in skies above,
Nor in the depths.
You are the kernel of my heart,
You are the face of my sun,
You are the harp of my music,
You are the crown of my company.

The Canna edulis, also known as Canna indica, is the only variety of Canna that has a history of use as food. Seeds from the canna plant are used to make natural seed jewelry.

I was looking through a book today called “Herbal Goddess” by Amy Jirsa and came across a Turmeric Face Mask recipe. However, I was out of a few ingredients.
I am not sure why shopping is so hard for me, but if I’m out of something, I just make due if possible. I am the Grocery-Store-Avoider! So, I crafted with what I had on hand.
**Test on a small area of skin first to check for allergic reactions.
Use a favorite store-bought face mask mix you already have on hand.
Put the amount of mask mixture needed to cover your face, into a bowl, and mix in 1tsp organic Turmeric powder.
I used a natural clay mask that is infused with essential oils, and added the Turmeric to that.
If you have apple cider vinegar, this adds astringent benefits and makes a great toner. Add just enough to your mask mix to keep the thickness you need.
Turmeric is good for troubled skin conditions such as redness, eczema, and rosacea. Its natural antiseptic qualities are excellent for treating acne.
Note: a good time to try this is a day where you can be at home. Turmeric makes my face look like I have a tan, but it can turn skin a bit yellow.
