    Ghost Gum Tree

There are a few different types of eucalyptus trees. Eucalyptus papuana, or Ghost Gum, has leaves that look more like a weeping willow and bark that is ghostly white. This evergreen does great with desert winds as well.

    The Self

There is a season for everything.

    We grow in spring,

    and flourish in summer.

    We gather in harvest,

    then rest through cold.

    What is no longer needed,

    falls like golden leaves.

    Beautiful in their death,

    they will again be reborn.

    Transformation has taken hold.

That which is stronger, more radiant…

    that metal which overcomes –

To this I say: rest and gather strength!

    Spring will come.

    And, out of winter’s frost,

    The indomitable within, will rise.

The Chiquola Textile Mill opened in 1903 and operated until 2003. It is known for the tragedy that was called, “Bloody Thursday” or the “Uprising of 34”, where United Textile Workers of America organized a strike. Both men and women gathered to protest low wages and poor working conditions. At the time, it was considered to be the largest labor revolt in American history and not long after, President Franklin Roosevelt instated the 40-hour work week and minimum wage. A memorial for those killed reads, “They died for the Rights of the Working Man.”

    Now?

    When?

    Balancing all we Do

Inner peace is a keeping of balance. There is joy in having enough time to do things quietly and without hurry.

What is one thing I can take my time with today to really enjoy?
