Today’s Shot 203

Spurred Butterfly Pea

Large Spurred Butterfly Pea Bloom
Centrosema virginianum

Centrosema virginianum, Spurred Butterfly Pea, Butterfly pea, Wild blue vine, Blue bell, or Wild pea is an herbaceous perennial. It is often confused with Clitoria mariana which is also called Butterfly pea. The difference is in the spur. With virginianum, you don’t see the long corolla tube like you see on the mariana.

I hope I didn’t mess ya up haha! I’ve been very fascinated with the very deep sea for a long time, yet won’t ever swim in it. 🤪

🤿 I’ve always wanted to scuba dive into the deep, but realistically, I think it would pretty much be terrifying … at least at first. It was an interesting connection to make! 😃

It’s so scary down there! I was afraid of that as a kid growing up on the lake. Creepy!!

I’m always worried some unseen thing will come by for a nibble … 😦

The weeds scare me the most. The very long ones that grow from the bottom to the surface, along the slopes where the transition is from deep to shallow, seemed to grab me and felt slimy! Gaaaah!!! 😱💀

If you look at it from a different point of view you can see a bird. You have the body with white tail feathers and the wide wings and a green beak. Beautiful flower.

I have to come way down to reply to your comment on the lake’s slimy weeds. We called them Coon Tail. Yuck… Raccoons aren’t good.
