Rainy Day
Busy
Driven to accomplish
Rain brings a pause
Slowing life
Serenity soaks the heart
Thirst is quenched
We have all we need
Within

Hoo Hoo

Coloring on apps, like Happy Color, is a nice way to be able to color wherever I am at when I need a break. It’s nice not to have to haul art supplies around with me for those middle-of-the-day zen breaks.

Balancing all we Do
Inner peace is a keeping of balance. There is joy in having enough time to do things quietly and without hurry.
What is one thing I can take my time with today to really enjoy?

Beat the Heat
Day turns into night. Then the sun rises again, and the world turns and turns through seasons and time. The days turn into a year and counting.
We find ourselves in a very different world from the one we were experiencing a year ago. Who could have imagined a year ago that the most common rear-view mirror hanger in cars would be a mask?
This heat is familiar though, and so from my archives, I share some cooling techniques from an article posted on May 23, 2019.

Timeless
What are the best memories made of? Is it campfires and s’mores? What about that fishing trip or family vacation to the beach. Topping root beer with vanilla ice cream and watching the foam rise. Sitting quietly within nature’s gallery for a spell? Screaming and laughing down a steep ride at an amusement park. Grandma’s blackberry pie – and fried chicken. Waking up to the smell of fresh-brewed coffee and sizzling bacon…
What do all of these things have in common?
None of these things include checking off our to-do list, or increasing our income and refining our career. There are no business suits or board meetings. No deadlines or status checks.
I think what all these things have in common is: a joyful leisure. It is all of our senses being in the present moment. It’s the fragrances, laughter, connections, and tastes. It’s watching in quietness – or being surrounded by familiar voices and faces. It’s in the keeping of our traditions and special moments shared. It’s hugs.
These memories are timeless!
What is one timeless thing that I can do today?

Freedom

Blooming together
Yet, my soul has elbow room
A garden with space

“Now my soul has elbow room.”
-William Shakespeare
What are my freedoms at home?
Love is possible only with freedom.
I am allowed to take the space I need.

A Mindful Moment
Thoughtful, we contemplate beauty.
We notice and are strengthened.
Here, we are inspired by her splendor.

Echinacea
Cee’s Flower of the Day – FOTD
Echinacea, or Purple Coneflower, is a genus of herbaceous flowering plants in the daisy family.
Echinacea has commonly been used for colds, respiratory infections, bronchitis, and for boosting the immune system.
Tautogram
I saw this form of poetry on Borden’s Blather and thought I would try it. “Tauto” means “the same” and “gramma” means “letter”. In other words, all words in the poem begin with the same letter…

Echinacea examines each enquiry
Every exhale emits evidence
Enters, explained emittance
Expelling event emerges
Efflorescent elixir
Ensuing epidemic’s end
Happy weekend to everyone, be safe and well!

Bloom
We don’t always smile because the conditions are perfect. We don’t have to frown because it rains … after all, it rains sulphuric acid above Venus. We don’t always find the perfect soil to grow and bloom in. But where are your feet planted? Bloom there.
Sometimes we find beauty in the most unlikely places. I was waiting for a patient at a cancer treatment center when these blooms caught my eye.
It’s a place people go to when they’ve received bad news and where they get the treatments that can save their life. Sometimes they have hope and sometimes they don’t.
My 75-year-old gentleman patient had a bandage around his head, but he had a kind word for the people he met and a smile on his face – a reminder that we may not always like the ground were standing on, but we can bloom right where we’re at, even in the most unlikely spaces.

“What is mind? It doesn’t matter. What is matter? Never mind.” -Anonymous

A fun play on words perhaps, but how powerful is our mind and how much does it matter? What effect do our intentions and beliefs have on our daily life? And, how about health, wellbeing, and relationships?
